| C8 majors on value, space, comfort, refinement and generous equipment. It's usually heavily discounted new, so used prices are competitive. It's a tempting budget alternative to Galaxy or Sharan. |

| C8 is related to the latest Fiat Ulysse and the Peugeot 807. Usefully larger than Galaxy/Sharan, it rivals Previa for interior capacity but costs far less. It's also very safe its 807 cousin scored five stars when crash-tested by Euro NCAP. The cabin is light, roomy and welcoming, with up to eight seats depending on version. Sliding rear doors (electrically operated on some models) make rear access easy. All rear seats remove to leave a huge load space, although there's a tight limit on luggage stowage with the third row in place. For a big car, C8 is easy to drive with accurate steering and confident roadholding. Ride is forgiving, and noise levels are low. Turbodiesel engines are favoured, with the 2.2 HDi best matched to the body's size and weight. 40mpg is possible. The petrol 2.2 feels lively for a big people carrier, but returns under 30mpg in typical use. |
